Stealing Betty Review

Stealing Betty EP Review

Stealing Betty is a Detroit based four piece rock band. The first thing you realize when listening to the new EP is that Stealing Betty knows who they are. There isnt anything on the EP that feels forced or faked. They use their style of infectious rock to
their advantage through all four songs and what we are left with is a great couple tracks that leaves you wishing this was a full cd release.

The first song is "Natural Born Thrillers" and is without a doubt my favorite track on the EP. This is a song you will be singing long after you've put the mp3 player away. You've been warned. The intrumentals grab you while Tonyas soulful, and powerful voice make sure your hooked for the duration.

The next song is lovingly titled "Shut Up". This song is a perfect example of this bands ability to craft a song that keeps your interest. Just when you think the song might fall into redundancy, Tonya pulls out the big guns with her vocals halfway through and shows you why she is a frontwoman worthy of mention in this industry.

The next song is titled "Multiply". This is probably my least favorite of the four, but don't read that as bad. The band delivers a more predictable, yet very effective rock song. I still wouldn't skip it on a playlist. This song proves you dont have to reinvent the wheel every time if your already making a damn good wheel.

The final song is "Fade Away". I think this is a very important song for the band because it shows that while they know what kind of music they want to make, they also have some diversity within the tracks to keep the whole package fresh and easy to listen to for multiple sessions.

The Stealing Betty EP will be released on July 1st. I highly suggest you pick it up. If this EP is a sign of things to come, the rock world better make room. Stealing Betty just put in its candiidacy for the big stage.
